When Should My Child First Visit the Dentist?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children see a dentist by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth coming in. Early visits give us the opportunity to monitor development, address any questions you have, and help your child start building a comfortable, familiar relationship with dental care.
Growing Smiles, Every Step of the Way
Baby teeth typically begin appearing around six months of age and continue erupting through early childhood, with permanent teeth starting to come in around age six. At each visit, we monitor tooth eruption patterns, jaw development, spacing and bite alignment, oral habits, and overall oral health to make sure everything is progressing as it should.
Building Healthy Habit
We encourage brushing twice daily with a soft toothbrush, age-appropriate fluoride toothpaste, flossing once teeth begin to touch, and routine dental visits every six months. We are always happy to coach both parents and children on best practices — without pressure, judgment, or overwhelming information.
