The miracle we’ve all been waiting for is here: Solea. Now available to you, Solea is a powerful dental laser that replaces the dental drill in the majority of procedures in our practice. It causes virtually no pain, vibration, or noise. In fact, nearly every patient skips anesthesia because they just don’t need it.

Solea is our way of keeping you happy. Because more than anything, we love to see you smile.

Solea is not only our way of keeping you happy, but also keeping you and our staff healthy. Solea helps reduce the risk of virus and bacteria transmission by significantly reducing the amount of splatter and aerosols created during dental procedures. This means there are fewer particles floating in the air that could potentially carry germs and viruses.

Solea is the first CO2 dental laser system cleared by the FDA for hard and soft tissue procedures. It was developed in Boston, Massachusetts by Convergent Dental, based on research conducted at the University of California School of Dentistry. Solea offers a unique wavelength guided by sophisticated computers to deliver virtually painless dental procedures for both teeth and gums from simple cavity prep to complex surgeries. Not only is the laser virtually painless, it is also vibrationless and noiseless. The experience is so unique that you will find it hard to believe you were just at a dental appointment.

Does Solea hurt?

Virtually not at all. Solea is designed to cause minimal to no pain during treatment. In fact, the vast majority of patients who receive Solea treatments do not need anesthesia at all. For children especially, this is a significant difference from the traditional dental experience.

Is the Solea laser safe for children?

Yes. Solea is FDA cleared and has been used safely across a wide range of patients, including children. At Little Dental Studio, your child's safety is always the top priority, and Solea represents a gentler, less invasive alternative to traditional dental instruments.

What procedures can be done with the Solea laser?

Solea can be used for the majority of hard and soft tissue procedures, including cavity preparation, fillings, and soft tissue treatments. It allows Dr. Angela to perform multi-quadrant dentistry and soft tissue procedures in a single appointment, significantly reducing the time your child spends in the chair.

How does Solea make dentistry safer?

In addition to being more comfortable, Solea significantly reduces the amount of splatter and aerosols produced during dental procedures. This means fewer particles in the air and a lower risk of bacteria and virus transmission, creating a healthier environment for both patients and our team.

Will my child be numb after a Solea procedure?

In most cases, no. Because anesthesia is typically not needed with Solea, children can leave the office without that lingering numb feeling. They can go straight back to eating, school, or their regular activities without any of the aftereffects associated with traditional numbing injections.

How is Solea different from a traditional dental drill?

Traditional drills rely on physical contact, vibration, heat, and pressure to remove decay and prepare teeth. Solea uses laser energy, which means the process is quieter, gentler, and far less invasive. Recovery time is also shorter because the surrounding tissue is disturbed much less during treatment.
